Digital Mapping Project receives eGovernment Award

The Property Registration Authority is delighted to announce that its Digital Mapping System has been judged Best Project in the ‘State Body’ category at the recent Irish eGovernment Awards hosted by Public Sector Times and Elucidate. The award was accepted by Catherine Treacy, Chief Executive of the PRA at a ceremony on Thursday 22nd February 2007.

This is the second occasion in which the groundbreaking nature of the Digital Mapping project has been acknowledged. In December 2006, Laser-Scan (now 1Spatial), our project partner who led the software development for the new system, received the AGI (Association of Geographic Information) Award for Innovation and Best Practice in respect of the system.

Welcoming the award, Catherine Treacy said:

"I am delighted to accept this prestigious award on behalf of the Property Registration Authority.  Having also been honoured for our electronic services in 2005 this further recognition is a timely and welcome boost for all our staff working on this  project.  I would also like to take this opportunity to share this moment with our project partners and with our customers who have been most supportive of our efforts during this challenging time.”
